Mount Isa Mixed Martial Arts

Mount Isa MMA is a Non-For-Profit Organisation which provides its members the ability to train and participate in Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Founded in 2010, Mount Isa MMA currently trains out of the Irish Club Gym 5 Night per week. Training times are as follows:

Monday:
7:00pm - 8:00pm Beginners Striking
8:00pm - 9:00pm No-Gi Jiu Jitsu

Tuesday:
7:00pm - 8:00pm Advanced Striking
8:00pm - 9:00pm No-Gi Jiu Jitsu

Wednesday:
7:00pm - 8:00pm Beginners Striking
8:00pm - 9:00pm No-Gi Jiu Jitsu

Thursday:
7:00pm - 8:00pm Advanced Striking
8:00pm - 9:00pm No-Gi Jiu Jitsu

Friday:
7:00pm - 8:00pm Advanced MMA

Saturday:
11:00am - 12:00pm Fighter Conditioning



Beginners Striking - This class trains students in the fundamentals of Boxing, Kickboxing, Muai Thai and striking for MMA. Students will learn the basic defensive and offensive moves and footwork needed to develop an advanced striking game. The required gear for this class includes 16 Oz gloves, shin quards, mouth guard and a cup.

Advanced Striking - This class broadens the basic techniques, allowing students further advance their striking ability. This class also allows students to partake in sparring, therefore students must be granted permission to join these classes before participating. The required gear for this class includes 16 Oz gloves, shin quards, mouth guard and a cup.

No-Gi Jiu Jitsu - This class focuses on the techniques that are fundamental for MMA, No-Gi Jiu Jitsu and Submission Wrestling. This class is open to all students of different levels. The required gear for this class includes a mouth guard, rashie shirt and a cup.

Advanced MMA and Fighter Conditioning - These classes are used to further improve the skill set of those fighting or looking to fight. These classes are invite only, students will be asked to partake in these classes once it is felt that the necessary skills have been obtained.
